Aurora pull off shock signing of Eternal Fire roster

In a move few saw coming, Aurora have signed the full Eternal Fire lineup including coach Sezgin “Fabre” Kalaycı, marking one of the most unexpected roster moves of the year.

The announcement came just hours after Aurora benched their previous Russian squad. Now, the Turkish five that helped Eternal Fire become a staple in top-tier Counter-Strike will don new colors starting with PGL Bucharest.

This surprise transfer spells the end of Eternal Fire’s run, which began in 2021 as an ambitious full Turkish project. Under the leadership of Engin “⁠MAJ3R” Küpeli and powered by superstar Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş, the squad made history as the first from Türkiye to reach a Big Event final and Major playoffs.

The timing makes the move even more shocking. Since adding Samet “⁠jottAAA” Köklü in the off-season, the team hit a new gear, reaching five straight playoffs and securing a BLAST.tv Austin Major Stage 3 invite. They’ve steadily climbed into the top five of HLTV and Valve’s global rankings, despite still chasing a breakthrough performance in front of a live crowd.

Aurora’s new lineup will debut at PGL Bucharest, entering as one of the tournament favorites.
