Battlegrounds India Series is the first official tournament of BGMI Esports of 2025. The tournament is currently taking place in the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata, West Bengal. Day 1 came to a close with Godlike Esports topping the group. Here is everything you need to know about day 1 of BGIS 2025.

BGIS 2025 Day 1 Recap: Godlike Leads the Chart
The BGIS 2025 Grand Finals is a 3-day lan tournament. The 16 remaining teams will face off against each other to win the BGIS trophy. This year, the tournament boasts its highest prize pool to date, exceeding $370,000. One thing to note before the recap is the venue of the event. The venue is equipped with LED boards throughout to display players' various statistics. Alongside that, there are several experience zones that fans can participate in during the event. This includes a Challenge Zone and a racing zone sponsored by Monster Energy.
BGIS day 1 started with the infamous walk-in entry for each team to the stage. The walk was planned to take place between the audience to help them look at some of their favourite players up close. On the first day, we witnessed six matches take place. Interestingly, each team that secured a win was a different team. There wasn’t one team that was steamrolling the opponents.
Godlike Esports ended the day on top with 67 points. They were also able to secure a chicken dinner. Today, they seem like the team that had a chip on their shoulder and a point to prove to the world. In second place is iQOO Reckoning Esports. While they got a chicken dinner as well, they have a more systematic approach to the day. They secured the most placement points on day 1 with 27, while having the second-highest finishes, only behind Godlike Esports. The last team on the podium spot is none other than iQOO Orangutan. They didn’t have their best performance, according to their players, but they were one of the few teams to secure the chicken dinner.
Going into day 2, it will be interesting to see how things unfold. Will Godlike Esports end the day on top as well, or will a new team end day 2 on top?
