BGIS 2025: Who Is Going To Win!

We have finally come to the last and most crucial phase of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series: the Grand Finals. After so many months and over 150 matches, the top 16 teams have qualified for the Lan finals at Kolkata. In this article, let’s look at the various and who will win BGIS 2025!

Favourites Going Into The Tournament:

BGIS 2025 is the first official tournament of BGMI, hosted by Krafton India in 2025. Since its announcement, over 10,000+ teams have registered at the event's start to win a piece of the 2 Crore INR prize pool. Many tried and many failed in the journey to the top. The second semi-finals of the tournament just concluded, with the top 8 teams qualifying for the Grand Finals Lan at Kolkata. The tournament will be hosted at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan. Below is a list of all the 16 teams that will be taking part in the upcoming grand finals:

To be blunt, the hype of this tournament had gone off the roof after the incredible comeback showcased by Team SouL. In the last match of Semi Finals 2, they secured the Chicken Dinner and a spot in the Grand Finals. This will be the first official event of BGMI, where both Godlike Esports and Team Soul will take part. For those who don’t know, they are the two most prominent organizations in India.

Reckoning Esports, True Rippers, and Orangutan are three other teams that players can keep an eye on. While they were known for their valuable rosters within Indian esports, it's good to see them diversifying and doing well in BGMI as well.

Who Will Be The Champion?

Two teams are the clear favourites, while two are the dark horses within this event. Let us talk about the dark horses, the first being Team Versatile. Since the addition of Spower, this team has been on a rampage of sorts. During the previous lan tournament, ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6: BGMI, Team Versatile finished 3rd—a position no one expected them to finish. Now, going into BGIS 2025, they are one of the teams that everyone has to keep an eye on. The other team is Reckoning Esports. In the past, this organization has been able to scout new talent and transfer them to different organizations. During the two official BGMI in 2024, this organization finished 3rd during BGIS and 5th during BMPS 2024 in Kerala. Recently, they have gotten a new player named Shubh, a 16-year-old who has been on top of his game.

The two teams that are the clear favourites going into this tournament are Godlike Esports and Team Soul. The two organizations have had a rivalry since early 2021. In the past, we have seen their team qualify for an official BGMI tournament, Lan, but this will be the first time that they will be present together. 

Between the two teams, Godlike Esports has been on quite a consistent run this year. During BGIS 2025, they finished 2nd during semi-finals 1 to secure their post in the Grand Finals. Last year, during BMPS 2024, they finished 3rd after being in first place on day 1 and day 2 of the event. The players to watch out for in Godlike are Admino and Jonathan.

In the case of Team Soul, things are very different. Since finishing fourth during BGIS 2024, they have been on a road that has had many ups and downs. They went on to win BGMS 2024 but failed to qualify for BMPS 2024. During ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6: BGMI, they finished seventh but won Upthrust Esports—The Multiverse Series 2025.In our opinion, Godlike Esports will perform well on days 1 and 3, while Team Soul will perform well on days 2 and 3. We predict that Team SouL will win this tournament for the basic reason that their players have played multiple official LANs and have been quite consistent once on stage.
