BLEED Esports Faces Backlash Again: Overwatch Team Terminates Contracts Amid Financial Disputes
Updated: Nov 19, 2024
BLEED Esports, once a dominant name in Southeast Asian esports, is now under scrutiny as its Overwatch Division publicly reveals contract violations and unpaid dues. Following the footsteps of BLEED's Rainbow Six Siege team, the Overwatch Division Manager, Ryan "rXis" Tan (https://x.com/rXisOW), announced the termination of contracts via social media.
In a statement, Ryan shared, “We signed a termination agreement stating that all remaining funds would be paid by 15th November 2024. However, as of right now, we have not been paid anything and are still owed around 25k+ USD as a team.”
Players MAKA, SeungAn, and rXis reportedly played without contracts or salaries during their tenure.
This development adds to the organization's woes. Aleksandar “Kassad” Trifunovic, BLEED's former Counter-Strike coach, recently alleged that CEO Mervyn has refused to communicate with players, leaving financial issues unresolved.
As BLEED Esports remains silent on these accusations, the Overwatch roster has declared themselves free agents, marking a dramatic end to their journey with the organization. This ongoing fallout highlights critical issues in contract enforcement and player management within esports.
