DarkZero Enters League of Legends with Maryville University Partnership for NACL 2025

DarkZero Esports has officially announced its entry into League of Legends, teaming up with Maryville University for the 2025 North American Challengers League (NACL) season.

This marks a significant step for DarkZero, not only debuting in LoL but also establishing a deeper connection with collegiate esports. The newly formed DarkZero Dragonsteel will be a continuation of Maryville’s collaboration with Brandon Sanderson’s Dragonsteel Entertainment, now backed by DarkZero in pursuit of League Tier 2 (LTA) promotion for 2026.

Maryville boasts one of North America’s strongest collegiate esports programs, with championship wins in NACE, CLOL, and the NACL Summer 2024. Their structured approach to talent development aligns with DarkZero’s vision.

“We’ve been interested in a long-term collegiate partnership, and everything about Maryville fits our values,” said Brandon Carr, DarkZero’s General Manager.

“We’re excited to work closely with their leadership, staff, and players to build a strong contender for the guest slot later this year.”

DarkZero has been waiting for the right opportunity to join Riot Games’ League of Legends ecosystem, and this partnership sets the stage for their NACL Spring Split debut on March 26th.
