FNATIC sign crashies
FNATIC has announced the signing of Austin “crashies” Roberts, one of the most experienced players in the VALORANT. Known for his time with top-tier teams such as Envy, OpTic Gaming, and NRG Esports, Crashies brings a wealth of knowledge to FNATIC’s roster. The veteran player is set to make his debut with the team at the Riot Games ONE 2024 Pro Invitational on December 14th, against ZETA DIVISION where he will look to make an immediate impact as FNATIC's newest star.
Austin “crashies” Roberts is renowned for his exceptional game sense, adaptability, and ability to deliver under pressure, establishing him as one of the most dependable and strategic players in the competitive landscape. His tactical acumen and composure in high-stakes scenarios will be indispensable assets for FNATIC as they aim to bolster their roster.
The addition of Austin “crashies” Roberts comes at a pivotal time for FNATIC, as the organization continues to adapt following a series of significant roster changes. On June 16, 2024, FNATIC announced that Leo “Leo” Jannesson had stepped down from the roster due to health issues. While Leo is still a valued member of the team, FNATIC’s management confirmed that his return is uncertain at the moment. The team has been fully supportive of Leo’s recovery, with FNATIC's manager Colin “CoJo” Johnson stating, “For anyone asking - Leo is still a member of our team, and we’re doing everything we can in the background to support his recovery. It’s very hard to predict his return at the moment, so we’ve decided to bring in Crashies, who we’re confident in, to fill the role until Leo is ready.”
In the interim, FNATIC signed Ștefan “Sayonara” Mîtcu as a stand-in for OFF//SEASON events, with Sayonara quickly proving his worth with solid performances. The team’s efforts to keep their competitive edge intact during Leo’s absence have paid off, and with Austin “crashies” Roberts now stepping in, FNATIC looks to continue this momentum into the next stage of competition.
Adding to the reshuffling, FNATIC also made a bold move by parting ways with their star player Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev, who had been with the team for a significant period and had been a key part of their success. To replace him, FNATIC signed Kajetan “kaajak” Haremski, a rising talent who won 2024 EMEA Ascension and has quickly made a name for himself as one of the top players in the region. While Derke’s departure was a tough decision for FNATIC, the signing of kaajak signals the organization’s commitment to maintaining a competitive edge with fresh talent.
With Austin “crashies” Roberts now joining the fold, FNATIC has positioned itself with a roster that blends experienced veterans and promising new talent. As the team gears up for the Riot Games ONE 2024 Pro Invitational, everyone’s expectations will be high.
