The Game Changers scene is no stranger to drama, but the latest controversy comes from a relatively unknown organization, Kae Vi (Violynx). Former player Karen Sakatani (Flexi) has stepped down, exposing deep-rooted issues of mismanagement, favoritism, and unprofessional behavior.

Allegations of Poor Leadership and Favoritism
Sakatani didn't hold back, calling Kae Vi “by far the most unprofessional org I have ever seen”, pointing to a toxic power imbalance within the team.
“One of my biggest concerns leading up to this conclusion is how the org ‘founder’ being a part of the main roster shifts a balance in power in terms of our free will to speak our minds.”
She also criticized team captain Ira/kV Viz, claiming that roster decisions were made without player input. “Our whole team decision solely depended on what our team captain had in mind with no prior discussions.” One example was “kV Dino unjustifiably being kicked off from the team”, highlighting a pattern of favoritism.

Unprofessional Behavior and Relationship Controversy
Perhaps the most explosive claim was that kV Viz prioritized their personal relationship over the team’s performance. During an official Game Changers match, kV Viz was muted and deafened, which Sakatani called “truly unprofessional”—especially since they later justified it as “having guests at home”, though Sakatani alleged they were actually talking to their girlfriend.
The controversy deepened as Sakatani accused the org’s leadership of hypocrisy, pointing out that while the players were contractually forbidden from having romantic relationships, “the founder and the co-founder [of Kae Vi] have a romantic relationship with each other.”
While Sakatani has moved on, the org now faces serious scrutiny, and it remains to be seen whether they will respond or attempt to rebuild their reputation.
As more players and teams push for higher standards in the industry, this drama is a reminder that mismanagement and favoritism can have lasting consequences. Will Kae Vi recover, or is this the beginning of the end?
