IEM Katowice 2025 Teams Revealed

ESL has officially unveiled the 24 teams invited to compete in IEM Katowice 2025, which will take place from January 29 to February 9. The tournament will be divided into two stages: 16 teams will battle it out in Stage 1 (previously the Play-in), while 8 teams earn direct entry to Stage 2 (formerly the Group Stage).

The defending champions, Spirit, will begin their quest to retain the IEM Katowice title in Stage 2. Spirit made history by claiming their first major victory at Katowice in 2024, with Danil donk Kryshkovets emerging as the breakout star. They will face fierce competition as they aim to repeat their triumph in 2025.

Joining Spirit in Stage 2 are some of the biggest names in Counter-Strike: G2, Vitality, MOUZ, Natus Vincere, and FaZe. though FaZe will compete without their star rifler Robin ropz Kool. Also making their way to Stage 2 are The MongolZ, a team that took the scene by storm in 2024, and Falcons, who reportedly have acquired the core of HEROIC.

Stage 1 promises to be an intense competition, with Liquid, MIBR, paiN, Complexity, and Wildcard representing the American region. FlyQuest will carry the flag for Oceania, while European teams like Astralis, Eternal Fire, GamerLegion, SAW, BIG, 3DMAX, Virtus.pro, and Imperial fe will also be fighting for a chance to advance.

Imperial fe’s inclusion is a highlight, as the all-female roster made waves in 2024, earning significant prize money and climbing into the top 23 of Valve’s rankings. Additionally, HEROIC’s spot in Stage 1 is likely confirmation that the rumors of the former Sangal trio joining the roster are true, solidifying their position in 25th place in Valve’s rankings.
