NRG emerged victorious in the Grand Final of the SOOP VALORANT League, defeating Gen.G 3-0 in a best-of-five series. Their dominant display throughout the playoffs and Grand Final secured their first title in the tournament.
Group Stage Recap
Group A
Thailand’s Made in Thailand (MiTH) qualified for SOOP VALORANT League by winning the Thai Qualifier, overcoming teams like XERXIA Esports and FULL SENSE. In the group stage, they delivered a statement win against Sentinels, securing a 2-1 victory and overturning a 6-12 deficit on the decider map to win 17-15. MiTH topped the group with standout performances from Killua and cgrs.
Gen.G rebounded after an early loss to Sentinels, eliminating TALON before avenging their loss with a 2-0 win over Sentinels in the SOOP Colosseum stage. t3xture led the charge with a stunning 47-kill performance, ensuring Gen.G’s advancement to the playoffs.
Despite promising rosters, Sentinels and TALON fell short of expectations. New Sentinels additions bang and N4RRATE showed potential but couldn’t propel the team further. TALON’s rising star primmie impressed individually but couldn’t carry the team past MiTH.
Group B
DRX displayed dominance in Group B, edging out Bilibili Gaming in a close three-map series before sweeping Rapid Lofi. Flashback excelled on Cypher, finishing as the group’s top fragger.
NRG’s journey was less straightforward, with an initial upset loss to Vietnam’s Rapid Lofi. They rebounded by defeating Bilibili Gaming and comfortably winning a rematch against Rapid Lofi. Verno emerged as a key player, with a standout 38 kill performance in the deciding match.
Bilibili Gaming and Rapid Lofi exited in the group stage. Bilibili struggled to maintain their Champions Los Angeles 2023 form, while Rapid Lofi showed flashes of potential but lacked the consistency needed to progress.
