Cairo, Egypt – Team Occupy is taking its battle against Riot Games to the next level, announcing legal action to block all Riot titles in Egypt and demand rightful compensation. The organization has also filed an official complaint with the Egyptian Esports Federation.

In a statement released today, Team Occupy expressed outrage at Riot’s continued silence on unpaid prize money, saying:

“We are truly shocked that the upcoming season is about to begin without resolving this financial disaster.”
The team also slammed organizations still competing in Riot-affiliated tournaments despite the financial controversy:
“What’s even more shocking is that some teams continue to participate in Riot tournaments despite the ongoing financial mismanagement and unpaid prizes. What a disgrace!”
The Legal and Competitive Fallout
The organization is making it clear that they hold Riot Games responsible, regardless of third-party tournament organizers.
“It does not matter to us if the organizer was responsible for the payments and failed to fulfill them—ultimately, we participated in these tournaments because they were Riot-affiliated, and Riot was the only guarantor.”
With legal action officially underway, Occupy is rallying players and fans to boycott Riot tournaments until justice is served.
“This company does not respect its players or our region. With no other option left, we are taking this matter to court to secure our rights and those of all players who have been wronged.”
What’s Next?
With Team Occupy refusing to back down, the pressure is now on Riot Games to respond. Will Riot address the allegations, or will this legal battle set a new precedent for player rights in esports?
