After showcasing the sheer domination throughout the tournament, Team Vitality won the ESL Pro League Season 21. Team Vitality decimated MOUZ in the finale to win the ESL Pro League Season 21 and grab the lion’s share of the $400,000 prize pool. The addition of ropz turned out to work in their favour as the Estonian player was one of the top five players, alongside ZywOo, in the tournament. Team Vitality Defeated MOUZ In The Grand Finals With A 3-0 Scoreline
Team Vitality was one of the Stage 2 invited teams who qualified for the playoffs with a clean 3-0 win under their belt. With the unique Swiss System format of Stage 2, the first eight teams to win three games will qualify for the playoffs. Team Vitality hardly dropped any sweat and won the first three rounds to become the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
Team Vitality met MIBR in their first round, which was also their first game of the tournament. Despite a bit of resistance from MIBR, Team Vitality defeated the Brazilian team with a 2-1 scoreline. Followed by their game against MIBR, Team Vitality defeated 3DMAX and Team MOUZ in the subsequent rounds with a 2-0 scoreline. With a perfect 3-0 record in Stage 2, Team Vitality was one of the first teams, alongside Team Spirit, to qualify for the playoffs.
With a strong core and the latest addition of ropz, Team Vitality were the favourites to cruise through the playoffs and win the ESL Pro League Season 21. The playoffs followed a single-elimination format, and Team Vitality’s first matchup was against Team Liquid. ropz’s 46 kills in the quarterfinals helped Team Vitality to secure a 2-0 win against Team Liquid and move on to the semis. To qualify for the finals, Team Vitality had to defeat The MongolZ in the semifinals. While Vitality decimated MongolZ on Anubis, the Mongolian powerhouse equalised the scoreline on Nuke. Team Vitality didn’t let the loss affect them and defeated MongolZ on Inferno with a 13-2 scoreline.
Team Vitality carried the momentum in the finale against MOUZ, and everyone on Team Vitality was in sync with each other. Starting with a 13-9 victory on Dust2, followed by a quick 13-4 win on Nuke and a 13-5 win on Inferno, Team Vitality defeated MOUZ to win the ESL Pro League Season 21. Apex and ropz with 45 kills, ZywOo and flameZ with 43 kills, and mezii with 42 kills under their names; Team Vitality showcased a perfect team performance in the finale. With ESL Pro League Season 21 being ropz’s debut tournament with Team Vitality, the Estonian star won the MVP title for his dominating performance.
