VALORANT update 9.11 patch notes: Neon nerfs, Vyse buff, more
With the year 2024 ending, VALORANT has finally released Patch 9.11. This patch update will include nerfs for the agent Neon and buffs for the sentinel Vyse. In this article, let's look at all the changes and what some of the effects could be in both ranked and within VALORANT esports.
In Patch 9.11, Neon will undergo significant changes to her abilities. This is because the agent is one of the most overpowered agents following patch 8.11. This patch made Neon a run-and-gun machine, as she had 100% shooting accuracy while using her sliding ability. Below are all the changes that are slated to take place to Neon’s abilities within VALORANT:
High Gear
Slides 2 >>> 1
Accuracy during slide
Full accuracy >>> Crouch-walking accuracy
OVERDRIVE
Duration of ultimate: 20s >>> 10s
Ultimate points 7 >>> 8
The impact of the changes to Neon will be felt immediately within VALORANT. Due to the changes in her ability, High Gear players don’t have the opportunity to dash in and out following a duel. Due to the change in accuracy, players are more likely to miss a headshot and be forced to go for the body. While this might not result in immediate one-shot kills during 1v1, it would help improve the playing field against Neon. The changes to her ability Overdrive will now make players invest more time in farming ult orbs and kills. With the ultimate duration reduced by 10 seconds, players will be forced into taking up a 1v1 duel upon activation of the ability.
Below is a list of all the changes to Vyse in VALORANT Patch 9.11
Razorvine
Damage per tick of moving through Razorvine: 6 >>> 10
Vertical drop spawn height: 450 >>> 300
Arc Rose
Equip speed after cast
Normal >>> Fast
The above changes are merely minor quality-of-life updates. Vyse hasn’t seen much play following her launch during VALORANT Champions 2024. Thus, these changes have been added to make sure that the agent is a bit more viable within the game.
VALORANT Patch 9.11 also consists of some gameplay-based updates in the game. Two new changes have been added concerning the in-game ping system.
First, smoke will block your in-world pings from traveling through them and land on the smoke instead.
Secondly, pings made on your map will no longer appear in the world and will only be displayed on the minimap.
Another change that has been added to this update is within Team Deathmatch. During Team Deathmatch, the regent shield has been added.
From this patch onwards, if a player equips a Classic during stage 1, they will have a Regen Shield instead of Light Armor.
